Born in Montpellier in 1980, Caroline Milin has devoted her free time to the teaching and practice of drawing and painting since childhood. After her studies in The Visual Arts and Cultural Meditation in Toulouse and Marseille, she settles in Perpignan, where she opened her studio “L’Attrape Rêves” (“Dream Catcher”) in 2008. Along with her creation, she runs art classes for children and adults.

Primarily a visual artist, she uses acrylics, oils, inks and pigments on canvas, wood or fabric, as well as the photograph and installations to produce cycles of works on different subjects.

Portraiture is her favorite genre. Caroline Milin is distinguished in the department for her grand-scale portraits. The regards in her works are inescapable because they bear the unique force or her personality. The expressive faces, series of jazz musicians and immense sequence of figures serve as a pretext to approach the question of the other, and of relations among men.

After long and obsessive research on human nature and its many faces, she then gave birth to a series of Visages-Paysages (Faces-Landscapes) in 2010, which was shown at the Chapel of Tiers Ordres in Perpignan. Within them, these portraits bear a new sensibility, a guarded secret. Lines and contours cross, flow and dissect. A decisive interiority releases faces in which a momentary peace appears.

In the beginning of this year of 2014, she embarks on new research of faces within the boundaries of the abstract and figurative. The subtlest colors find an all-different vibration. Transparent games give way to a universe in suspension.
